National Clean Beauty Day - July 15th
July 15th marks National Clean Beauty Day! Now, you may be wondering why there is a day fully dedicated to clean beauty. This day exists to celebrate products that are mindfully created, produced with healthful ingredients, sustainably and ethically sourced and made with the health of our bodies and the environment in mind. It also is meant to further educate consumers about the importance of conscious cosmetics consumption.
Clean beauty has grown to dominate the beauty industry, with consumers becoming more conscious about lifestyle choices and what they are putting into their bodies. Additionally, consumers have grown more conscious about the effects of their products on the environment. However, the term “clean” is still subjective, as the term is not regulated. Most define the term as products made without ingredients that can be harmful to health. The industry is working to create a definition that will ensure consumers feel confident when purchasing products that claim to be “clean to create consistency.” As of now though, brands have their own definition of “clean,” making it important to look at the labels of your products to ensure that brand lives up to your definition or standard.
